Frequently asked questions
How does the breastmilk preservation process work?
I turn a very small amount of your breastmilk into a dry powder by using a unique breastmilk preservation process to make sure all of the microorganisms are inactivated, so it doesn’t mold or spoil. I do this by mixing your breastmilk with a special preserving powder, slowly heat it up until it becomes a thick paste, transfer it to a piece of parchment paper and let it dry completely, then grind it into a very fine powder. This can then be mixed with resin and turned into a precious keepsake.
I only need about 5 ml of breastmilk to complete this process.
How should I send you my items?
Once you have placed your order you will receive an email giving you the details on how to ship your breastmilk or ashes to me. If you do not receive this email within 2-3 business days, please let us know.
Typically triple-bagging milk or ashes works well, in a padded envelope.
What if I want something I don’t see on the website?
Just message me and we will discuss what you have in mind!
If you want a piece in SOLID gold, just message me and we’ll make it work. Solid gold is obviously more expensive, but would withstand more regular (daily) wear.
I want most of my pieces to be affordable, but totally understand the desire to have an option for solid gold.
How do I care for my keepsake jewelry piece?
Caring for this particular type of jewelry is a bit different than normal jewelry due to the unique nature of the stone.
Avoid:
-Water exposure —don’t wear your jewelry in the shower, swimming, doing dishes, etc.
-Heat exposure — don’t leave your jewelry in a hot vehicle, or in direct sunlight.
-Perfumes/lotion (avoid direct contact with the stone).
-Daily wear or rough handling — If cared for properly, the pieces will last forever, but you have to treat them with care. I highly recommend treating them as something that you WANT to last forever, and perhaps consider not wearing on a daily basis.
Do you take returns or refunds?
Due to the very personalized nature of each handmade piece, we do not accept returns or give refunds once the completed keepsake has been sent. If you have any complaints/issues with your keepsake, please contact me directly.
Once you have placed your order for your piece, I order the materials needed right away. Partial refunds may be possible in the event you’d like to change your order and I have not yet started it. It’s best to triple check your order before clicking submit!
